about the creator of EH?
Jasmine Almeida, originally from Wolfville, Nova Scotia, holds a degree in Business and Marketing from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax. She and her husband, Dr. David Almeida, have moved across the U.S. for David’s career in retinal surgery, calling Iowa City, Minnesota, North Carolina, and now Erie, Pennsylvania, home. Together, they are raising three children: Max, Leo, and Paloma.
With a "bloom where you're planted" approach, Jasmine has actively contributed to each community she’s been part of. As the Marketing Director at Erie Retina Research, she applies her business expertise to drive growth and innovation. Jasmine is also the president of Access for All, an organization dedicated to ensuring anyone who needs access to advanced retina care can receive it at no cost. Certified as a yoga instructor, she’s passionate about wellness, entrepreneurship, and empowering others.
Jasmine values the diverse beauty of the USA, the incredible people she’s met along the way, and the entrepreneurial opportunities that continue to shape her journey - but she misses poutine and all-dressed chips!
Our goals
At EH? Stories, our mission is to build a vibrant, connected community through the power of storytelling. We aim to foster a sense of belonging for Canadians living in the USA, showcasing their unique experiences and perspectives.
Our goals include:
- Fostering Community: We strive to create a welcoming space where individuals from all backgrounds can connect, share their stories, and celebrate the diverse experiences that make us stronger together.
- Creating Secondary Publications: We are committed to expanding our reach with new publications that resonate with different groups. One of our upcoming initiatives includes a publication for Canadians living abroad, as well as one for Americans living in Canada. These publications will explore the shared experiences and unique challenges faced by these communities, offering them a platform to share their voices.
Through these initiatives, we hope to build a network of stories that inspire, connect, and celebrate the experiences of people living across borders.
